Medicinal Cannabis Matters – Our weekly round-up of what has been happening in the world of medicinal cannabis this week.
This week we look into what CBC is and its benefits, how CBD products are more effective for relaxation when they include terpenes, how some women are turning to medicinal cannabis to help with symptoms of Menopause, and we look at Slovenia’s cannabis referendum happening on the 9th of June.
What is Cannabichromene (CBC)?
Cannabichomene is the third most common cannabinoid in the cannabis plant after TCH and CBD. Benefits include anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal and anti-tumoral. Other research shows it could have the ability to improve skin health including acne.
CBD products are more effective for relaxation with terpenes EEG scans show.
Research has shown that a CBD product infused with terpenes was several times more effective than a CBD-only product. Participants in the research consumed one unit with 50mg CBD of each product and then underwent EEG tests. Read more about what was found in the article below.
Medicinal cannabis for Menopause Symptoms.
Studies have shown that more and more women are turning to medicinal cannabis to help with symptoms of Menopause. Research suggests that these women may be onto something says Lauren Streicher, MD, a professor of gynecology at Northwestern’s medical school.
Slovenia’s cannabis referendum votes are set for the 9th of June.
Slovenia’s Freedom Movement was successful in its push to place referendums relating to medicinal cannabis use. Slovenia has a research and development sector that few countries have and this makes this the perfect place for international cannabis entities to conduct their research.
