Dorset man with post-polio syndrome finds relief through medicinal cannabis
A powerful personal story from Dorset: 68-year-old Keith Ford, who lives with post-polio syndrome, has found meaningful pain relief and improved mobility through medicinal cannabis. After years of relying on conventional painkillers that caused unpleasant side effects, Keith now uses medicinal cannabis oil, which has helped reduce his chronic pain and allowed him to walk unaided again.
This uplifting case is a reminder of how medicinal cannabis can dramatically enhance quality of life, especially for individuals with rare or difficult-to-treat conditions.

Long-term study finds medicinal cannabis improves sleep and reduces anxiety
A new UK study has followed 124 patients with insomnia over a period of up to 18 months, assessing the effects of medicinal cannabis-based products. The results are encouraging: patients reported significant and sustained improvements in sleep quality, along with reductions in anxiety, depression, and pain.
The study used medicinal cannabis oils and dried flower products and noted few side effects, mainly fatigue or dry mouth. While more rigorous trials are still needed, the findings support the potential of medicinal cannabis as a longer-term solution for sleep-related issues—especially when conventional treatments fall short.

Medicinal cannabis as a supportive option for musculoskeletal pain
Musculoskeletal (MSK) pain—such as back pain, arthritis, and muscle injuries—is one of the most common forms of chronic pain worldwide. A recent Canadian study reviewed the use of medicinal cannabis for MSK pain and found that it may be particularly useful as a second-line treatment, especially for patients who do not respond well to NSAIDs or opioids.
The review supports the idea that medicinal cannabis could play a growing role in non-opioid pain management, a key priority given the global opioid crisis. Researchers called for more targeted trials but acknowledged growing interest in medicinal cannabis therapies among healthcare professionals and patients alike.
Medicinal cannabis is helping more people take back control of their health—whether managing pain, improving sleep, or enhancing quality of life.
