The Island’s Award Winning Medicinal Cannabis Company, Medicann, is set to host the Medicann 5k, Your Way on Sunday 2nd February to mark World Cancer Day.
Last year, the event saw patients, family and friends join up and raise over £5000 for charity, as participants took part in a totally inclusive event which meant participants could run, walk or even bike the route.
This year, fundraisers will meet at St Aubin Car Park, and follow the 5k route along the esplanade, with the finish line at Elizabeth Ferry Kiosk.
The event is being held in aid of local community organisation ‘ABC Jersey’. It is free to attend however all participants are encouraged to raise or donate at least £20 to take part.
Sarah Burns, Ambassador for ABC Jersey commented: “ We are extremely grateful to be part of the Medicann 5k, and the chosen beneficiary charity for 2025, and we are excited to see Islanders come together to raise vital funds to mark World Cancer Day”
The event was founded by Gary Whipp in 2024, and he said:
“At Medicann our care starts with every single patient so that we can help people to gain a better quality of life. We are encouraging everyone to get involved, no matter their age, or ability and hope that we can raise even more than last year for our friends at ABC Jersey”
Medicann is a local multi-award-winning medicinal cannabis clinic that prescribes for various conditions and since being founded in 2019.
Donations can be made via JustGiving, or on the day in the collection buckets at the finish line.
Tickets for the event are available on Eventbrite, and more info can be found at www.medicann.co.uk/events
