Tell us about your condition Rose…

I suffer from Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer, meaning I experience a lot of pain, especially with the progression to my spine. I also experience Anxiety, especially around the time I'm due my 3 monthly scan results to see how/if my body is responding to the current treatment I'm on. I also suffer from Depression and fibromyalgia which are also extremely debilitating at times.

Have you tried traditional drugs prescribed by the doctors? Yes, I have tried traditional drugs prescribed by the doctors, however, I didn't feel alone. They were giving me the pain relief I was searching for. They also did not allow me to go about my daily life.

How did you feel when you didn’t get the help you needed? I have been prescribed very strong opiate painkillers and anti-anxiety tablets. When I was taking these I wasn’t able to function normally. I slept a lot and my quality of life decreased. I now use medicinal cannabis for my anxiety and I can take fewer painkillers unless I have a bad flare-up.

How did you come to learn about medicinal cannabis? I came to learn about Medicinal Cannabis through Gary Whipp who created Medicann. Through listening to him talk about medicinal cannabis, and educating people on the benefits, I knew that it was right for me.

What were your initial thoughts about medicinal cannabis? My initial thoughts were that I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I’d used Medicinal Cannabis in the past through another provider, and after a while, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the results it was giving me. By going to Medicann, I have found a better quality product which allows me to still live. Many people worry that medicinal cannabis is going to ‘get you high’ and there are so many misconceptions out there, without Medicann, I wouldn't be able to live the way I live now, I’d just be getting prescribed traditional drugs and sat on the sofa like a zombie - a hybrid approach of both traditional drugs and medicinal cannabis really works for me.

How did you find your experience with Medicann? I appreciated the honesty, openness and transparency of all the team at Medicann. Any questions I had (and I had many) were answered honestly and in detail. I was also very impressed with the different products on offer and the different strengths available. I also learned that one size really doesn’t fit all.

Are there any other conditions that medicinal cannabis has helped you with? Medicinal cannabis helps with the side effects of the chemotherapy I’m on, it also helps with the ‘scanxiety’ I get waiting for my three-monthly scan results.
