What is your condition that you are being prescribed for?

I am prescribed medical cannabis for a spinal cord injury. I am a quadriplegic with a C3/C4 injury.

How did you first learn about medical cannabis?

I first learned about medical cannabis in 2020 when I was actively looking for alternatives to help manage my spasms. I already knew cannabis helped me significantly, so being able to access it as a prescribed and controlled medicine was a huge step forward.

Medical cannabis has made a huge difference to my life. It helps manage both pain and overall wellbeing. I have chosen to stay away from stronger traditional medications such as pregabalin and opiates, as I have seen the negative effects they can have on others with similar injuries. Having access to medical cannabis as a prescription has been incredibly beneficial and, for me, essential.

My experience has been outstanding. Any questions or queries I’ve had have always been dealt with promptly, whether by phone or email. The level of care and support has been excellent throughout.

Anything else you would like to share?

I’m very grateful to be able to access medical cannabis without the stigma that previously surrounded it. Having a medicine that genuinely improves my quality of life, without feeling judged for using it, means a great deal to me.
