How to Look After Your Medicinal Cannabis Vaporiser This Summer

As the weather gets warmer, many of us spend more time outdoors. But while sunshine can be great for your wellbeing, it isn't always great for your medicinal cannabis vaporiser.

High temperatures can affect the performance of your device and cartridge, potentially leading to leaks, blockages or a less consistent experience. The good news is that a few simple habits can help keep your vaporiser working as it should throughout the summer months.

How to Look After Your Medicinal Cannabis Vaporiser This Summer

Here are our top tips for looking after your vaporiser in warmer weather.

1. Store your vaporiser somewhere cool

Heat is one of the biggest enemies of a medicinal cannabis vaporiser.

Whenever possible, keep your device and cartridge stored at room temperature (around 20°C or below). Avoid leaving it in places where temperatures can quickly rise, such as: a parked car, a windowsill in direct sunlight, a conservatory or a bag left outside in the sun.

Excessive heat can affect the consistency of the oil inside the cartridge, which may impact how it performs.

2. Keep your cartridge upright

When you're carrying or storing your vaporiser, try to keep the cartridge upright with the mouthpiece facing upwards.

This simple step can help reduce the chance of leaking and helps the oil remain in the correct position within the cartridge.

If you're travelling, consider using a protective case that keeps your device secure and upright.

3. Use the correct inhalation technique

If you're using a button-activated vaporiser, it's worth allowing the device a moment to heat before taking your first inhale.

Giving the heating element time to warm up can help produce vapour more consistently and may reduce the likelihood of blockages developing.

Taking slow, steady inhalations rather than sharp, quick draws can also help your device perform more effectively.

4. Use the right battery settings

Not all batteries are the same, and using the correct one can make a real difference to your experience.

For most medicinal cannabis cartridges, we recommend using a compatible 510-thread battery and keeping the voltage between 2.5V and 3.5V.

Higher voltages can overheat the oil, while lower settings may not produce enough vapour. Following the manufacturer's recommendations helps protect both your cartridge and your device.

Why looking after your vaporiser matters

Your vaporiser is an important part of your treatment. Looking after it can help maintain reliable performance and support a more consistent experience each time you use it.

Simple maintenance and careful storage can also help prolong the life of your equipment, particularly during periods of warmer weather.
